The first annual “Westport Pops Concert at the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts” with emcee James Naughton, will feature a program of popular classical and contemporary music from the repertoire of Staples Symphonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Band and the Orphenians.
This special concert event marks both the culmination of the Staples school year and its nationally recognized music program as well as a special “pre-season” presentation in advance of the Levitt Pavilion’s upcoming 2016 Summer Season.

The “Westport Pops” concert will be presented free-of-charge. Free tickets for “The Pops” on June 9 are available using this online order form and are limited to FOUR PER PERSON. Please note: No tickets are available at the Levitt Pavilion site or office.

The Levitt Pavilion Lawn will open to ticket-holders at 5:30 – seating will be BYO-lawn chair and picnics are encouraged. Food vendors will also be located in the Levitt Pavilion / Library parking lot.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be performed at 7 p.m. on the same night in the Staples High School auditorium on North Avenue, where tickets will be honored.

"Westport POPS", modeled after Boston’s fabled Pops on the Esplanade, gives the community another chance to enjoy and celebrate the musical accomplishments of Staples High School Music Program and the students, who have been recognized for the fourth straight year as a National Best Community for Music Education and as a 2016 GRAMMY Signature School Semifinalist.

The 2016 Westport POPS inaugural logo was created by Harry Burke, as part of a special project in the Staples' Advanced Design and Technology Class, led by instructor Carla Eichler.
