Join Robert Carnochan and the Frost Wind Ensemble as they explore the works of past musical legends such as Aaron Copland and Igor Stravinsky and current legends such as Steven Stucky and Mason Bates. The program opens with arguably the most iconic fanfare ever composed, Fanfare for the Common Man, and then moves to Stravinsky’s epic Symphonies of Wind Instruments, which pays homage to Claude Debussy’s passing. Steven Stucky was heavily influenced by Stravinsky, which can be heard in his piece called Fanfares and Arias. The program concludes with Mason Bates’s exciting and diverse piece called Sideman, featuring Frost faculty artist Svet Stoyanov in a performance that is sure to bring the house down!
