Shimite is a New York-based corporate attorney at Lowenstein Sandler, entrepreneur, musician and art collector.
She is passionate about community empowerment, cultural heritage and supporting the arts. Shimite has generously donated many hours of pro-bono legal advisory for The Barrow Group (TBG), including incorporation and by-law work to ensure compliance with state law.
As a member of the TBG Board of Trustees from 2014-2016, she spearheaded TBG’s Diversity Committee, which created strategies to diversify TBG’s constituents and students.
As a result, with the help of the Citrin Foundation, TBG created its first scholarship program for students ages 7-17 from low income families. Additonally, Shimite helped TBG develop its Corporate Workshop programming. Shimite holds degrees from Duke University and Columbia Law School.
