The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a service celebrating the birth of Jesus through scriptural readings and song. The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine short Bible readings from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of history’s most beloved Christmas carols. Fr. Tony Zimmer from St. Anthony’s in Pewaukee, and Fr. Ken Knippel from St. John Vianney in Brookfield will preside at this event. In addition to the Pius XI Choirs and instrumentalists, guest artists include the Mastersingers of Milwaukee under the direction of Eduardo Garcia-Novelli, and the Pius XI Academy Cathedral Choir under the direction of Ms. Emily Crocker.
