A new show from Colleen Raye Productions that explores the trail blazing female songwriters from Tin Pan Alley and The Great American Songbook.

You’ll hear songs from Dorothy Fields (Sunny Side of The Street, I’m In The Mood For Love, Pick Yourself Up), Peggy Lee (He’s A Tramp, It’s A Good Day), Ruth Lowe (I’ll Never Smile Again), Ann Ronell (Willow Weep For Me), Billie Holiday (God Bless The Child), Betty Comden/Green (Just In Time, The Party’s Over, Never Never Land), Carolyn Leigh (Young At Heart, Witchcraft, The Best Is Yet To Come).

Colleen Raye not only created the show but also performs in it with her daughter and local Chicago actor and musician Sophie Grimm. accompanied by local legend Becky Menzie. Both Sophie and Colleen are seasoned entertainers and vocalists who will interpret the songs with the flavor and heart of the composers. You’ll hear some history, have a few laughs and hear great music from the American Songbook, all to salute some of the First Ladies of Song.
