In this talk, Professor Emeritus Cooper considers our debt to intuitive insight and enlightenment. We are fascinated by those who strive beyond the mundane and, through will and skill, achieve the extraordinary. We then evaluate them, rank them, and, sometimes, even canonize them as heroes and guiding lights.
