Celebrate the life and work of Leonard Bernstein, composer, lyricist, conductor, educator, and humanitarian, as we approach the 100th anniversary of his birth.
Bernstein’s compositions include operas, film scores, art songs, and orchestral pieces, but our quartet, showcases his substantial contribution to musical theater. Although Bernstein authored his own memorable lyrics, he also collaborated with legendary Broadway lyricists such as Betty Comden and Adolph Green, John LaTouche, Alan Jay Lerner, Stephen Schwartz, Stephen Sondheim, and Richard Wiilbur, whose talents are also celebrated in a line-up featuring songs from On the Town (1944), Peter Pan (1950), Wonderful Town (1953), Candide (1956), West Side Story (1956), Mass (1971), and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue (1976).
