October - Chimpanzees, wolves and gorillas are among the most charismatic of the social mammals we know—besides ourselves. They’re also under threat. Join biologist-turned-photographer Ronan Donovan as he talks about the incredible similarities we humans share with other social mammals in the animal kingdom, and what we can learn from them.

December - Despite the Arctic’s reputation as a barren wasteland, award-winning photographer Florian Schulz discovered a vibrant ecosystem—including playful polar bears, mysterious musk ox and a herd of thousands of caribou—over the course of 34 months in the High Arctic. To the German explorer, it was a quest for an uncharted wilderness that stands in contrast to an otherwise ever-more populated and industrialized world.

Feb/March - In the fall of 2014, a National Geographic team set out on what they knew would be a harrowing journey to the summit of Burma’s Hkakabo Razi, to determine if it is indeed Southeast Asia’s highest point. Leader Hilaree Nelson recounts the tough decisions she had to make to keep the team together, accompanied by photographer Cory Richard’s dramatic stills and clips from Renan Ozturk’s searing documentary Down to Nothing.

April - In this talk, marine biologist-turned-National Geographic photographer Thomas Peschak takes audiences around the world with his award-winning images and his engaging take on the ocean’s charismatic creatures.
