This concert features works by Mozart that span his lifetime — the spirited Missa brevis in F major , K. 192, which was written when he was only 18, and the exquisite Motet in D major, Ave verum Corpus, K. 618, written just five months before his death. Also featured in this program is Fauré's Requiem in D minor, Op. 48, a masterpiece written shortly after his father’s death to comfort all who are mourning the passing of a life.
Choralis is featuring a charity at each of its 2018-19 concerts. The featured charity for this concert is the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center of Northern Virginia. Audience members are encouraged to bring unneeded prescription eyeglasses to the concert for donation to the program.
