Since its inception in 2016, Soch has captured the spirit of intercultural dialogue and diplomatic exchange that is present throughout New York City. As one of the few conferences in the US to focus on Pakistan, we aim to foster constructive dialogue that can produce tangible change within Pakistan and the larger South Asian community. Over the course of the conference, we are eager to explore pressing issues that exist in the public health system; to do so, we aim to foster discourse on women’s reproductive rights, the current mental health infrastructure, and lastly, how poverty and violence serve as social determinants of health through which health inequities fester. These fundamental issues aggregate, forming a cycle in which a system meant to aid those in need, fails. The conference will be taking place in Lerner C555 from 10 AM-7PM. At the conference, we will have respected intellectuals, scholars, and experts to speak on the relevant issues.
