Columbia Ballet Collaborative (CBC) is pleased to present a program of six original works for its upcoming spring performances. Founded in 2007 by five professional ballet dancers enrolled at Columbia University, CBC is comprised of students from all of the University’s undergraduate colleges and affiliates. For the spring 2019 season, Columbia Ballet Collaborative welcomes Tom Gold, former New York City Ballet soloist and founder of Tom Gold Dance; Morgan McEwen, ballet dancer for the Met Opera and founder of contemporary ballet company Mordance; Durante Verzola, Philadelphia-based freelance choreographer known for his vibrant ballet pieces; Nadia Vostrikov, freelance choreographer, dancer, and actress; and Andrea Ward, contemporary dancer, teacher, and choreographer. This season we are also continuing our choreographic mentorship program where student choreographer James Shee, PhD student in Chemical Physics and former dancer with National Ballet of Canada, will create a piece with the guidance of former CBC choreographer Craig Salstein.
