Soch is expanding its platform to provide space for political and intercultural dialogue in regards to Pakistan on campus. The first event as part of this expansion will be a panel on the issue of Kashmir, one that is quite timely and relevant given the current geopolitical situation in the South Asian subcontinent. Particularly, this panel will talk about the current conflict between India and Pakistan and wish to highlight ideas from multiple sides of the conflict, whether it is Kashmir, India or Pakistan. Soch plans to foster a discussion with the implied understanding that no war is ever desirable. However, Soch want to discuss the nuances of the situation and explain why/how the escalation took place, who can be held accountable, what is at the root of the violence in the region itself, and what practical solutions are for deescalating and what Kashmir’s future holds. To foster this discussion, experts on Kashmir and India/Pakistan policy will be speaking on the matter in a panel setting. Snacks and tea will be provided!
