This program will feature cabaret songs from Weill’s earthy, sensuous, melancholy and edgy works from the Weimar era, as well as Britten’s Cabaret Songs, composed in the late 1930’s but not published until 1980. This concert will also present Weill’s String Quartet Op. 8. The Last movement, Choralphatasie, is a “reverential homage to the counterpoint of J.S. Bach”.
