High School actors will explore how plays and musicals depict the human longing to discover self and to find belonging. Through solo, small-group, and ensemble work, students will learn how to transition from scene to song, creating a believable shift that allows the audience to follow a character’s journey. Through a diverse selection of scenes and songs, students will build an original song cycle that captures the spirit of “there’s no place like home.”

All classes will attend a matinee performance of our production of The Wizard of Oz during the week.
