REIGEN ad lib
Saturday, April 30, 2011
at Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum
1071 Fifth Avenue
No Late Seating
Vienna born playwright Arthur Schniztler, a close friend of Freud's and often considered his literary counterpart, wrote a series of influential works, including "Der Reigen" (1897), a play considered so immoral and scandalous at the time that it remained banned for more then twenty years with only one known unauthorized performance in Budapest in October 1912. Performed by Dood Paard, the avant-garde theatre collective based in Amsterdam, who brings their own unique style of theatre with no director, set designer nor external authority to determine interpretation. Acting style, stage design and all decisions are made among equals-actors and technicians.
Please note the program is not suitable for audience younger then 17 years of age.
