The tale of Orpheus--the mythological figure who charmed beasts and even coaxed rocks and trees with his music and who attempted to rescue his wife, Eurydice, from the Underworld--has inspired countless retellings. Composers from Monteverdi to Gluck to Offenbach to Philip Glass have created operas on the subject. Frost Opera Theater's "Visions of Orpheus" is a new musical collage which explores the Orpheus legend through its numerous and diverse incarnations.
