A uniquely expressive performer on both 19th-century and modern instruments, a composer of note; winner of the Radio France International Competition.

“Never was a standing ovation more richly deserved. Pavel Steidl had won the hearts and minds of a capacity crowd.” – Classical Guitar magazine

Since winning first prize at the Radio France International Competition in Paris in 1982, Czech guitarist Pavel Steidl has become one of the most widely celebrated soloists of his generation. In 1987, he emigrated to the Netherlands, where after years of study and inspiration, he created his own style, which incorporates both world music elements and authentic interpretation of 19th-century guitar literature on period instruments.

Also a composer, Pavel frequently performs his own works on his programs. He has performed in more than 40 countries, and was selected by the readers of the Italian magazine Guitart as the guitar player of the year for 2004.
