"Every once and a while, a writer's voice hits such a clear note, the resulting book has the kind of sweetness that makes you hold it in your hand a moment before finding a place for it on your shelves. Circles Around the Sun is this kind of book: it's a keeper."
-Anne Enright, THE GUARDIAN

Named Memoir of the Year by The Sunday Times, Molly McCloskey's Circles Around the Sun tells the story of her brother, Mike McCloskey--14 years her elder--who was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia at twenty-three. The youngest of six siblings, Molly could not recall who her brother was before his illness struck. Through reading an astonishing archive of preserved family letters, Molly pieces together a picture of his life an along the way explores her own demons, and how a seemingly perfect family slowly can fall apart and, in the end, regroup.
