The Frost Opera Theater, with the Frost Symphony Orchestra, presents three fully staged performances of Mozart’s The Magic Flute with guest stage director and choreographer Catherine Turocy. The opera will be sung in German, with English dialogue and Supertitles. The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte, K. 620) is a fairy tale opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart that includes both singing and spoken dialogue. It premiered in 1791, and remains one of the most popular and most often performed operas. Its storyline features the handsome prince Tamino and the bird catcher Papageno, both in search of love, guided in their mission by the priest Sarastro to rescue the beautiful Pamina from the Queen of the Night. The rescuers are aided in their efforts by a magic flute and bells as they confront their series of challenges.
