Famed violinist Joshua Bell, whose soaring lyricism makes him beloved the world over, is joined by composer and virtuoso bassist Edgar Meyer to give the Florida premiere of Meyer’s new Double Concerto for Violin and Double Bass with the Frost Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Sleeper. The duo’s stunning interplay will amaze and delight you! The program will also feature the world premiere of a new concert march by Emmy Award-winning film and television composer, conductor and distinguished alumnus Joel McNeely under the auspices of the Abraham Frost Commission, a new music endowment established by Dr. Phillip Frost in tribute to his late father. The evening concludes with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. The tenth anniversary of Phillip and Patricia Frost’s generous naming gift to the music school will also be celebrated with a special Intermission presentation.
