This year, trombonist Andrew Friedrichs is featured on Paul Creston’s highly challenging Fantasy for Trombone and pianist Oleksii Ivanchenko performs Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Opus 18. In addition, composer Rodrigo Bussad’s Depois da Chuva (“After the Rain”) highlights the varied colors of the orchestra and provides contemplative contrast.
