A food party celebrating the eats, drinks, and merriments of Bushwick, Brooklyn, to benefit The Bushwick Starr.

For one night only, an incredible array of local Bushwick restaurants, bars, and shops will offer tastings at the inaugural Taste of Bushwick, celebrating the vibrant and eclectic culinary life of Bushwick, Brooklyn. All proceeds will benefit the upcoming 2014-15 Season of theater, dance, puppetry, and performance at the Obie Award-winning, non-profit theater The Bushwick Starr. The event will take place inside The Bushwick Starr’s performance venue at 207 Starr Street and on the 1,000 square-foot roof deck, with killer views of the Manhattan skyline.

2014 Taste of Bushwick vendors will include: seasonal and locally sourced fare from Northeast Kingdom, the European-style eatery Café Ghia, fresh arepas and the Venezuelan cuisine of Arepera Guacuco, craft beer from The Sampler, New Orleans-style BBQ out of Simon Glenn’s pop-up Tchoup Shop @ Heavy Woods, Cuban fare from Cafeteria La Mejor, wine tastings from The Bodega and Henry’s Wine & Spirit, inspired sandwiches and salads from Fritzl’s Lunch Box, slices and grinders from Archie's Bar+Pizza, French fare from Mominette Bistro, and two of the neighborhood’s very first culinary landmarks – fresh tortillas from Los Hermanos Tortilleria, and Boar’s Head, who will be bringing a hotdog cart to the party!

Guests can “take the Taste home” for an additional $40 above the $35 general admission price (tickets are $40 after June 8th), with a limited-edition Taste of Bushwick tote bag, filled with over $200 worth of awesome local items, including goods from Roberta's Pizza, FINE & RAW Chocolate Factory, Brooklyn Grange, Bucolic Bushwick, Boswyck Farms, Circo’s Pastry Shop, Sweet and Shiny, and more.

The After-Party at Radio Bushwick will feature sets by Bushwick musicians Springs and LNWD Ft. Brilliant, My Boy, along with beloved downtown theater performer Cynthia Hopkins.
