Introductory lessons on the basics of the tenor banjo. Students will begin by learning the basic makeup of the 4 string banjo, identification of the parts, knowledge of standard tuning and identification of the notes on the fret board. After getting to know "about" the banjo, we will progress onto the playing of the banjo. Proper technique for holding the banjo, hand technique and proper strumming pattern will be taught. Once a basic comprehension of these is in place, they will be further refined with scales and some basic Irish traditional tunes.
