Over the course of the workshop, you will be guided through the basics of learning to use your digital SLR—working on the basics of exposure, composition, motion and depth of field. We’ll spend some time each day making new images—learning to see light creatively and capture it effectively. We will then download and process the images with Lightroom (a powerful all-in-one file management and image-editing program), learning about photo management, image editing and everything that comes after you click your shutter. This workshop is for beginning photographers or for those looking to brush up on their shooting skills, and for people that want to learn to effectively manage and process their images. Teacher Bio: Dev Khalsa feels fortunate to be invited into peoples’ lives every day to celebrate the ordinary and the extraordinary moments that define them. Throughout her 20-year evolution as a documentary, wedding and portrait photographer, she has learned that providing truly great images goes way beyond technical expertise. It requires insight, intuition, and the ability to connect with her subjects on an emotional level. Photography has taken Dev on an incredible journey. From her formal training in photojournalism, to teaching with some of the world's best photographers at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, and receiving international exposure through her published work— photography continues to enrich her life.
