Take the C or E train to 50th St (8th Ave); the 1 train to 50th St (Broadway); or the N, R, or Q train to 49th St (7th Ave). Walk west towards 11th Ave. It is roughly a 10 minute walk. A parking garage is located on W. 51st between 10th and 11th Ave.


This class is designed for anyone interested in the Irish language, and its use in contemporary visual media, in Irish film, and minority language broadcasting. Texts that will be discussed are Corp agus Anam - TG4's hit drama series; Sínte - a short film by director Tom O Suillivan; and Ros na Rún - TG4's long-running soap opera and Paul Mercier's award winning teenage drama show Aifric. Each class will consist of an introduction to the text being screened, followed by a (partial) screening and then an analysis and discussion of the language, narrative, themes and characters portrayed in the text. The background and history of Irish-language television and film will also be addressed and its future prospects explored. These classes will afford participants a novel opportunity to increase their knowledge of the language. Monday, 8:00pm-10:00pm on April 27, May 4, May 11, May 18
