Join NYC Writer/Performer and “Recovering Mathematician” Gioia De Cari for a special one-night performance of her award-winning national hit show "Truth Values." Called “hilarious” by WIRED, the play is also a serious exploration of the world of elite mathematics and the the challenges faced by women in STEM fields. The story follows Gioia’s adventures as a math Ph.D. student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Bewitched by the formal mathematical notion of Truth, she struggles with the clash of her personal reality in a world that is not binary.
A panel discussion, "Bias and Breakthroughs: Women in Engineering and Tech," will immediately follow the performance. This event is co-sponsored by The Columbia School of Engineering and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
