The Beggar or the Dead Dog by Bertolt Brecht
Produced by Nathan Alston & Jamar Jones
Recently, Broadway actress Tonya Pinkins left a production of Brecht's Mother Courage and her Children because she believed that the production was not authentic in its depiction of Black women. The production was set in The Congo and brought up many questions about whether or not Brecht's pieces can be inserted into a different time and place like the works of Shakespeare. This workshop of Brecht's rarely done one act The Beggar or the Dead Dog will investigate this concept.

ClickB@it
Produced by Naked Theatre Company
ClickB@it is an original devised piece in development. The concept and conceit of the piece is an ensemble-driven, vignette-style show inspired by internet “click bait” and “viral” phenomena. ClickB@it will examine how these elements shape media, permeate social development, and exacerbate news headline ‘numbness’—all delivered with a fun, pop-y, sketch sensibility. NTC is dedicated to exploring the intersection between live performance and the audience’s access to the creative process.
