Latino Theater Co. presents
GHOST WALTZ
by Oliver Mayer
Directed by Alberto Barboza

Developed in Latino Theater Company’s Circle of Imaginistas playwriting group, this new play is a boldly original, picaresque portrait of Juventino Rosas, one of Mexico’s most significant musicians. Following Juventino’s tragic story — from the early loss of his father, to his encounters with rag-time legend Scott Joplin in New Orleans, to his revolutionary encounters in Cuba, to Juventino’s own untimely death — This play mixes music, magic, drama, passion, ghosts and dance in a highly theatrical style that explores the impact of colonialism on the emerging Americas of the late 19th century.
