Join us for an evening of dance! Sankofa’s 25th Anniversary and performances by Alex Bernstein ’23, Isabel Carmona ’24, Caroline Morrissey ’25, Ethan Richmond ’24, Lucy Walker ’23, and Ashley Xu ’22.

Sankofa’s 25th anniversary celebrates the history, community, and legacy that this team has fostered. Sankofa was originally founded in 1997 by five Black women: Dahra Jackson ’00, Maxine Lyle ’00, Mya Fisher ’00, Melina Evans ’00, and Samantha Reed ’00. In the spirit of Sankofa, we will step back in it to commemorate our original reunion steps and the original starting point of step. We will also be joined by student choreographers, who will be demonstrating various forms of dance and highlighting the wonderful community of dancers that Williams has to offer.


UPDATED NOTICE: The general public is now welcome to attend events in the ’62 Center. Members of the public are required to show proof of full vaccination including a booster, if eligible (ages 12+), by showing your physical vaccination card or photo of your card. Patrons over 18 will need to present an ID matching the name on your vaccination documentation. Williams students, faculty, and staff are only required to show their Williams ID. All patrons are required to wear a well-fitted KN95 or surgical mask covering your mouth and nose at all times while inside the building. These policies are subject to change at any time.
