SFDanceworks returns to Z Space for its 9th season with a boldly curated program spanning modern-dance lineage and today's most distinct contemporary voices, ramping up toward the company's 10th anniversary. Highlights include a Merce Cunningham solo performed by San Francisco Ballet Principal Joseph Walsh, two world premieres including; a new group work for five dancers by Jermaine Maurice Spivey, and a piece for three performers by longtime collaborator Brett Conway. Yue Yin also returns with A Measurable Existence, newly cast with Lani Yamanaka and Sarah Chou. Together, the four evenings offer a program shaped by lineage, risk, and intimacy — a showcase of SFDanceworks' role as an incubator for contemporary dance heading into its milestone tenth season.
