Oscar Wilde's entrancing and atmospheric Salomé was the last of his plays to be produced in his lifetime. Fraught with scandal, the play was considered so provocative that it was frequently banned. Oscar Wilde’s masterpiece tells the story of the exotic and seductive Salomè, a young woman whose obsession with revenge leads this Biblical tale to its inevitable end of the beheading of Jokanaan (John the Baptist) and Salome’s infamous dance of the seven veils.
