The Bloody Beginning, after 4 1/2 successful years, has closed due to a venue problem. The Bloody Beginning was one of the city's most unique, interactive, and surreal theater experiences. Performing to sold-out audiences since October 2011, The Bloody Beginning brought the actual unsolved Prohibition-era murder of Cynthia von Buhler's bootlegger grandfather to life in the downtown building that once served as mobster Meyer Lansky's hangout. The Prohibition-era time capsule featured live jazz, burlesque, mobsters, moonshine and more.
