The Butter and Egg Man
by George S. Kaufman

The Gene Frankel Theatre
24 Bond Street
New York, NY 10012
Just off of Lafayette
B, D, F, M to Broadway Lafayette or 6 to Bleecker

The Butter and Egg Man follows our hero, Peter Jones, a likable Mid-Westerner, as he navigates the sometimes exasperating and always exciting world of Broadway. Written in 1925, it is a hilarious satire about a seemingly simple country boy who comes to New York to break in to theatrical producing under the misguided idea that he will double his money. But the young man may be smarter than he seems – will he be able to turn a “flop” in to a “wow”?

Retro Productions is proud to participate in America's inaugural Red Nose Day on May 20th and 21st!

Please consider joining us at the show those nights and contributing to our campaign on behalf of the Children's Health Fund - one of the many worthy charities being supported this year. Red Nose Day has been in the U.K. since 1985 - launched by director Richard Curtis, and a project of Comic Relief, the goal was to raise money for a range of worthy causes and also generate awareness among the public of the struggles of underprivileged people around the world. Before the show we will have red noses for sale and after the show we will be passing the hat on behalf of CHF - and clowning around with our audiences!
