Faith Helma is a Hand2Mouth veteran and a “fearless performer, creator, teacher and theater-maker” from Portland, Oregon. I HATE POSITIVE THINKING is her defiantly half-assed shakedown of the self-improvement industry. Join her on a journey into an alternate world, in which we find freedom through bragging about failure, raging against the machine and dancing like jackasses.
You can watch Faith dance like a jackass in this Failure Revolution video
Faith has performed I HATE POSITIVE THINKING at the NW New Works Festival in Seattle and Risk/Reward and the Fertile Ground Festival in Portland. In March, she led a workshop based on the show for SXSW Interactive in Austin, Texas. You can read a write up about that in the Verge
Quote: My favorite thing about Faith was that she yelled 'DOES ANYONE WANT TO DO THE DIRTY DANCING LIFT WITH ME?'
