For 17 years Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein dominated Broadway with such hits like Oklahoma! , Carousel, South Pacific, The King & I, and The Sound of Music. Their shows and films garnered thirty-four Tony Awards, fifteen Academy Awards, the Pulitzer Prize, and two Grammy Awards.
This two-act concert, celebrates and remembers The Rodgers & Hammerstein legacy by presenting a complete career chronology honoring the 75 years that have passed since the debut of Oklahoma! on March 31, 1943. Songs from all eight R&H shows will be presented, including the film State Fair and TV’s Cinderella.
Hosted by Daryl Nitz and Laura Freeman, featuring Ken Baker, Cynthia Clarey, Sophie Grimm, and Tom Olickal with musical direction by Andrew Blendermann, Joe Policastro on bass and Phil Gratteau on drums
