Support us in celebrating 100 years of cinema in Provincetown and 21 years of the Provincetown Film Society!

As a part of Cinema100, Provincetown Film Society is looking to make some upgrades to the screening room of Water's Edge Cinema at Whaler's Wharf - the original location of cinema in Provincetown!

Formed in 1998 in conjunction with our first Provincetown Film Festival, the Provincetown Film Society (PFS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to continuing the founding mission of the Provincetown Art Colony – to provide a welcoming, nurturing and inspiring environment for boundless and authentic creative exploration – in film. It has also been dedicated to the celebration of Provincetown – an American treasure nestled among spectacular National Seashore beaches and a shining example of diversity and inclusion.

Our objective is achieved through our three primary activities: our annual Provincetown International Film Festival; our year-round theater operation, the Waters Edge Cinema; and the Gabrielle A. Hanna Provincetown Film Institute, providing special screenings, panel discussions, workshops on a variety of topics and supporting gender equity in media through the Women Filmmaker’s Residency Program, the Women's Media Summit, and the Women's Film Festival during Women's Week.
