Carpenter Performing Arts Center
The Carpenter Center is committed to providing distinctive arts experiences to our community while maintaining a fiscally-responsible organization. We rely on the support of individuals, businesses, and foundations that share our belief in the importance of the arts. While the Carpenter Center is located on the CSULB campus, less than 20% of our budget comes through the university. Commissioned works, subsidized performances, community facility use, and all capital projects are funded solely through the generosity of our donors.
Arts for Life
The goal of Arts for Life is to provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy access to arts experiences regardless of age, education or economic ability. Most activities are free or have a low-cost admission. Arts for Life offers programs in three areas: Classroom Connections for elementary schools, Campus Connections for CSULB students and faculty, and Community Connections for our greater region.
Student Participation Fund
Encourages CSULB students to attend Carpenter Center performances through deeply discounted tickets. CSULB faculty members may request SPF funds for class participation. As possible, the Carpenter Center will connect artists to CSULB classrooms for lecture/demonstrations, master classes and discussions through Arts for Life Campus Connections.
