Latino Theater Company’s mission is to provide a world-class arts center for all those pursuing artistic excellence and be a place where the convergence of people, cultures, and ideas contribute to the future.

We take these words to heart, and each year make our programming accessible to thousands of underserved students in Los Angeles County by providing tickets to them at no cost. Last year over 3,000 students attended our programming. This year with your help we can raise the number to 8,000 students.

Free The Arts

Free The Arts
is a safe-haven for ALL Black artists to cultivate new visions born from their liberated black imaginations.

Free The Arts is a holistic experience where Black artists free themselves from any limitation holding them back from achieving their heart’s desire in their work. And as they release themselves into a radically liberated experience with their artistry, the art they release into the world frees the hearts and minds of humanity.

Free The Arts is a living, breathing body of diverse Black artists coming together as one to put each other on-game through innovative training, community, opportunity, and the making of bold, new works for a unique and ever-growing audience.

One thing about being a black artist is that it is not a monolithic experience. As a Black, openly queer, multi-hyphenate artist, Free The Arts' Founder Larry Powell, has had and continues to have a very different, singular experience. Still, he is not alone.

Free The Arts gives those artists operating in that Black Unicorn realm space and time to think and breathe and experiment and discover that not only do they have wings but that they are worthy of flying.

And when we as artists know we are worthy in our hearts it is reflected in our art. And when that kind of love is reflected in our art what is possible in the world grows in faith, hope and heart. Because that is the power of a freed art.

Free the artists.
Free the arts.
Free the hearts.
