Jimmy Joe Memorial Fund
Jimmy Joe helped build the Hip Pocket Theatre. He found it's first home at Grissom's on Hwy 80 and built the first stage. He appeared in numerous productions before heading off for a life in the circus. He ultimately came home to us to perform in "The Angel Play - A Suicide Burlesque" and "The Enchanted Lake". His last curtain call came on October 4, 2015...we'll miss him every day. Please give to the Jimmy Joe Memorial Fund and share a story about him through our website....Thank you!..."Life's a trip so you gotta keep your bags packed!" - JJ
Preservation Project
The Hip Pocket Theatre Preservation Project was started in 2006 to seek out videos, images, printed materials and stories of the Hip Pocket Theatre's past to be preserved in digital format for all to see. This unique, outdoor theatre began by Johnny and Diane Simons and Douglas Balentine in 1976 has created over 240 original works, many of which were filmed and photographed in various formats.

We are seeking your financial support to help us preserve this unique artistic treasure. We are actively digitizing video tapes to prevent their loss along with thousands of slides, negatives, prints and printed materials.

Please consider making a donation to assist us in this effort.
LED Lighting
Please help us raise the funds needed to replace our old incandescent stage lights with modern, outdoor rated, LED light fixtures. The federal government has decided to end the production of incandescent light bulbs and all of our current stage lighting uses incandescent bulbs. We need to purchase a supply of bulbs to hold us over as we make the long needed transition to LED lighting. The LED light fixtures will need to be outdoor rated and cost about $1810 each (which includes the fixture, mounting clamp and four leaf barn door). We will need 18 of them for a total cost of approximately $32,580.
The Love You Share
The Love You Share (theloveyoushare.org) was created by Jennifer and Angelo Merendino. They take no money to run things, as this is truly a labor of love. Instead, they pass along all donations to patients.
