JACCC'S ANNUALCHILDREN'S OSHOGATSU WORKSHOP

By sharing traditions with our children, we pass on not only the rituals but also the spirit of the holidays to the next generation. Engage your child in JACCC's one-day Oshogatsu workshop, where they can participate in arts and crafts, activities, and watch demonstrations led by local artists and community members, creating lasting memories and fostering cultural values that they will cherish for years to come.

Workshops are designed for children ages 7 - 14. Participants will be split into two groups according to age. Group A will consist of participants age 7-10 and Group B will consist of participants age 11-14. By splitting the group we plan to engage participants on a deeper level in these workshops. Registration includes a special Year of the Rooster t-shirt. The workshop is limited to 50 participants, and pre-registration is required. Space will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Interactive "Year of the Rooster" calligraphy class
- Taiko class on the Aratani Theatre stage
- Mochitsuki by Kodama Taiko
- Shikishi board decorating (to be displayed in the George J. Doizaki Gallery)
