Tom Burr

The iconic Armstrong/Pirelli building, designed by Marcel Breuer in 1968–70, sits adjacent to Interstate 95 and serves as a dramatic gateway to the city of New Haven, Connecticut. Over the course of 2017, artist Tom Burr — a native of New Haven — will work on the ground floor of the building, creating a series of site-specific artworks in an evolving exhibition. This endeavor represents a continuation of Burr’s reflections on site, subjectivities, and the eroded distinction between private and public spheres.

Wednesday, October 25, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Deborah Berke + Titus Kaphar

Join architect Deborah Berke and artist Titus Kaphar for a conversation about art, architecture, community, and urban transformation. Berke has long collaborated with artists and has designed numerous galleries, art schools, and studios. She and Kaphar are presently collaborating on the flagship building for Postmasters, a new artistic incubator that will provide studio space, mentorship, professional development, and training in the Dixwell neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut.
