100th Birthday Tribute of George Aratani

The Man, the Life and the Legacy
George Aratani the story of his love and devotion to his family, his community and his compassion for all human beings. He loved America and he loved Japan, but above all, he loved living life to its fullest.

His exposure to the mass incarceration of the Japanese Americans during World War II gave George the indelible experience of loss, suffering and hardship that impacted the lives of thousands of every other Japanese Americans living in the USA.

However, his deep compassion, courage and enduring will to succeed was his greatest source of strength and inspiration to help others.

Long after he attained personal wealth and success as an entrepreneur, he devoted his life as a philanthropist, giving back to people. His personal charisma and mission as a human being inspired so many people with his love for the Japanese American Community. His mission in life continues today with the legacy of the Aratani Foundation: to support organizations of the Japanese American Community that will inspire and educate future generations with the values of Japanese Culture to humanity, justice and world peace. George Aratani’s life was transformed into a vision of a world where the injustice and sufferings of the past would never happen again, where all human beings could inspire and teach future generations the values of freedom, human rights and the world peace today.

George Aratani was a stand for love and compassion for all humanity.

We honor him as a great entrepreneur, a great philanthropist and a great human being.
