WFT@BU’s Teen Cabaret is a student led, directed, managed, and acted full length cabaret performance of show tunes selected specifically for the performers. The proceeds from this performance will go to the WFT@BU’s scholarship fund. The scholarship fund makes sure any young person can take classes in the arts which help build creativity, confidence, critical thinking, focus, and collaboration. In Wheelock Family Theatre’s almost 40 year history, no person has ever been denied acceptance into any class due to inability to pay. All the songs surround the theme: “relationships”. We strongly believe this theme represents WFT@BU’s commitment to creating art that establishes and strengthens relationships that cross generations, gender, race, religion, sexuality, and all other identifiers. It is because of WFT@BU that teens want to create their own performance that celebrates the community WFT@BU has created, a community that cultivates and bolsters relationships.
