Please join us for a special book-signing event celebrating Shakespeare & Company: When Action is Eloquence, featuring the book's two authors Bella Merlin and Tina Packer at the Elayne Bernstein Theater. Shakespeare & Company's Artistic Director Allyn Burrows will be the host. This event is free. For the safety of all patrons at this event, masks will be required while indoors at the Bernstein Theater.

Ms. Packer is the Founding Artistic Director of Shakespeare & Company who has acted and/or directed all of Shakespeare's plays and the creator of Women of Will, her original take on Shakespeare's female characters. Ms. Merlin is an actor (last seen at S&Co. in the 2019 production of TWELFTH NIGHT) and professor of acting at the University of CA - Riverside.

This book is the first comprehensive look at the founding and early history of Shakespeare & Company and a fascinating exploration of its approach to training and educating actors as well as acting and producing Shakespeare's plays for over 40 years of unique and robust productions.

Both Tina Packer and Bella Merlin will be in attendance as well as signing books for sale in the Bernstein Theater lobby. Refreshments will be available. Seating is limited so reserve your space now. We request that unvaccinated patrons wear a mask at this event.
