Inspired by Drawing Sessions at 101 Spring Street, Judd Foundation is pleased to present a series of monthly Reading Sessions in both New York and Marfa. During his lifetime Donald Judd collected more than thirteen thousand volumes, housed today in libraries in both locations. A voracious reader, Judd’s collection reflects the scope of his interests with books covering a wide range of subjects, from astronomy and philosophy to humanities and the arts.

Following the artist’s tradition, these 90-minute Reading Sessions bring the practice of reading and contemplation back into Judd’s library spaces. Each reading session takes place on one floor of the 101 Spring Street location and the Donald Judd Library at La Mansana/The Block. Artist Guides are on hand to answer questions about the collection.

Judd Foundation asks that visitors please bring their own books and supplies such as notebooks and writing materials. Seating will be provided for visitors. Please note that the books in the Donald Judd Library collection are not available for browsing or public use.
