DESCRIPTION OF PIECE
Over an unpredictably cold winter in the rural Northeast, three domestic violence agency workers deal with budget cuts, burnout, secondary trauma, and a last-resort-fundraiser-gala-talent-show-for-the-rich-that-they-don't-want-to-do. This is a new play and the first act of a full-length piece!
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Claire is a New York-based playwright and screenwriter from the ocean and mountains of New England. She writes darkly comic plays centered on themes of grief, hypocrisy, power, and disbelonging.
Her plays include THE SCOUTS OF AMERICA DON’T SELL COOKIES, B*TCH (2025 O’Neill NPC Semifinalist, 2025 Ojai Playwrights Conference Semifinalist, 2024 Echoes Writers Program Finalist, 2025 The Tank), ADIRONDACK CHAIR MISSING, PLEASE RETURN OR ELSE! (2024 Barr Hill Players Theatre Semifinalist, 2023 Playwrights Realm ScriptShare Program, 2024 The Tank), and THE BOX OFFICE (2023 The Tank).
When she isn’t writing, Claire researches intimate partner violence and substance use and is a trained survivor advocate. Claire loves being outside, binge watching tv, and making herself do improv at UCB.
