DESCRIPTION OF PIECE
One Dead One Alive is an original devised piece exploring the life and creative process of Mary Shelley. The author of Frankenstein and mother of science fiction. She lead a life women were "not meant to live" in the nineteenth century. We aim to ask the questions. What is right? What pieces of us come together to create something fantastical and gripping? And How did the daughter of two revolutionary philosophers create a work that has influenced storytelling as we know it today? Directed by Taylor K. Corbett and Jordan Daniel Smith
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Close Proximity is a theatrical initiative born out of the desire to create new and interesting works. We believe in upholding a safe and trusting work enviroment while creating work that matters. As Augusto Boal the writer of Theatre of the Oppressed once said, "Theatre is a rehearsal for the revolution" and we at Close Proximity feel it is our responsibility to present works that fight against injustices and uphold the simple fact that all human beings deserve freedom, safety, and the right to exist.
