ABOUT THE SHOW
In a collage of poem/stories, audio and video vignettes, I’ll share some of the small miracles and mysteries I’ve witnessed doing drama with elders in nursing homes and youngsters over the last 50 years.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Barry Marshall earned an MFA from Yale School of Drama and went on to write and direct plays in NYC. He taught theater for 30 years at Moses Brown, a K-12 Quaker School, in Providence, RI. He also co-founded, with W.E.R. LaFarge, The Popular Theater of Rhode Island which did socially active theater projects in the community. After retiring in 2014, Barry and Lorraine Keeney created The Authentic Voices of Elders Project, which gathers the stories of elders, transcribes them, and turns them into poems, narratives, songs, children’s books, plays and roleplays for elder friends, family, and community to experience.
