Part rock concert, part world music. Homegrown and uniquely urban. The Cumbia Festival features four of L.A.’s newest and hottest working bands who evoke the intricate music history, politics and sensuous soul of the deep cumbia rhythms and give birth to a new musical genre on the streets of Los Angeles. Hand-picked by radio producer Betto Arcos, these Latin indie artists move like the wind through musical worlds with spellbinding offerings of electric and psychedelic surf guitar riffs, salsa, Afro-Latin, reggae, funk and dance inducing cumbia grooves. This unique musical hybrid reflects the parallels that exist in the barrio pulse across Latin America.
