If you don't learn to write your own life story, someone else will write it for you.

Produced and directed by Edwin Martinez, Roland Legiardi-Laura, Deborah Shaffer, and Amy Sultan, To Be Heard is the story of three teens from the South Bronx whose struggle to change their lives begins when they start to write poetry.

Hailed as "one of the best documentaries of the year" by the New York Times , the screening will be followed by a Q&A and panel discussion with filmmaker Roland Legiardi-Laura, Christen Pollock (the College Board), and Richard Cardillo (National School Climate Center), moderated by Kanene Holder.
